Sales of coloring books help fund scholarships for Kalama High School art students!
The first scholarship was awarded in 2022. The recipient was Max Smee, a Kalama High School senior.
Scholarship applications are accepted in the spring.
When Tessa Devoe came up with the idea of creating a coloring book showcasing the beauty of the local community, she knew she had to involve her art association.
I wanted to create something that would not only showcase the amazing talent of our local artists, but would also help raise funds for a good cause,” she explained.
She decided to create a coloring book that featured artwork by local artists that would help raise funds for a scholarship for a local high school student.
KAMA was thrilled to be a part of this project! KAMA members contributed artwork which was then turned into lined coloring book pages. The pages in the book pay tribute to Kalama’s unique sights and scenes, and the artists who call it home.
Our small town is truly blessed to have such a thriving artistic community,” she says.
The final coloring book is truly special! The paper works with colored pencils, water-based markers and light watercolor. You can have fun exploring with your favorite mediums!
